HALINÁ Modern Filipino Kitchen + Bar: A Night Out in East Vancouver

Halina is a modern Filipino kitchen and bar on East Hastings Street in Vancouver, and it rewards making an evening of it: a cocktail during happy hour, plates for the table, then a dessert served in a coconut shell.

Inside Halina

The dining room in Hastings-Sunrise has a hand-painted mural, rattan banquettes and a long bar, and the restaurant describes its vibe as lively and welcoming, with upbeat music and vibrant gatherings.

Behind it are four friends who started with a takeout and catering business called Bigboy’s Chigs To-Go and grew it into a full dining room blending Filipino tradition with Canadian ingredients.
